Craft in America: Family
PBS series Craft in America: Family will feature work by workers with a connection to CHG.
The Peabody Award-winning Craft in America series explores America’s creative spirit through the language and traditions of the handmade object – transporting the viewer to discrete corners of the country through stories of humble materials carefully crafted into works of art, and the artists who produce them – it’s a story that appeals to the emerging DIY spirit as well as the connoisseur in pursuit of that unique, perfect object that will infuse life with beauty and meaning.
Craft in America: Family explores the creative home environments of the renown Moulthrop family of Georgia woodworkers (with an appearance by President Jimmy Carter); Seattle’s Marioni family of glass artists; ceramicist Cliff and jeweler Holly Lee’s studio/home in rural Pennsylvania; and custom cowboy boot maker Lisa Sorrell with her children in Oklahoma.
